lebeado People - Deborah Lithgo

Welcome to lebeado People, where – surprise, surprise – you can meet some of the people who make lebeado tick. First up is Deborah Lithgo, who’s in charge of lebeado’s online operation. Poor old Debs is the Cinderella of lebeado – condemned to work below stairs in the basement of the Jesmond shop, only allowed out once a month to buy a replacement ink cartridge. But here’s a girl with a serious addiction problem – and one who lets her partner off far too lightly. She answers our probing and highly personal questions

Deborah, what was the last film you saw?

The last, and most expensive film I saw was 'In Bruges' - it was so good I've booked tickets to go in November!

What's in your fridge right now?

Lots of (boring) salad as I'm trying to be healthy, this is however let down by the 24 mini milk ice lollys in the freezer section, which I'm addicted to at the minute.

Your favourite piece of jewellery?

My favourite is a gold disc pendant with a lotus flower on it which I never take off.... but also I'm always drawn to MADE fair-trade jewellery and snap it up when we get new stock.

Your idea of a perfect weekend away?

I like exploring new cities so my ideal weekend would be to amble round art galleries and shops during the day and have a meal and drinks in the evening.... hopefully Bruges will provide all of these things!

The worst thing about your partner?

I think this changes on a day to day basis but at the moment it's his awful OCD and insistence on cleaning away mini milk ice lolly sticks almost before I've finished eating them.

What super-power would you most like to have?

Definitely to be able to fly as it would mean I'd never have to set foot on a plane again. This would make my (and I'm sure everyone else’s) holidays a lot more pleasurable!

What the best thing about le Beado? Or your favourite/funniest lebeado moment?

The best thing is definitely the team of people working there who I can now call great friends. There are so many funny moments but I think the weird and wonderful questions customers come out with are my favourite, '"can you show me the essential oils?", "do you sell chocolate hearts?" "where are your beads?" etc...

And what's the news headline you'd most like to see?

'lebeado Opens Flagship Store in New York' - with me as manager!
